Making Hidden Folders In Pubs (Originally By Vincent)

Ok I am not sure if something like that has been posted,but....

Ok here's one, since there are so many people who still don't know how to create those, I thought it was time to create a Guide.

We are going to create a "hidden" directory.

Press "insert" when you're in the disered pub or folder.

Enter a space or more whatever you want and press enter.

You should be able to see a folder with no name like on the screenshot.

When you're browsing trough the pub with Iexplore/Netscrape or some other browser you're wont be able to see the dir.

___

Press insert and create a new folder. [e.g. test]
You can also name it COM or AUX or whatever.
Now press enter.

In these folders you must create at LEAST one subdir....something like "tagged4ds"
and after that "upped by blabla".

Go back to the root, or the folder where you created "test".

___

#3
___

Now do a right mouse on the folder you just created and go to "custom commands".
Click "edit custom commands"

Press insert and call it "rename" [e.g.]

Now in the RIGHT field enter "RNFR" [after RNFR enter the path of the dir, in this case its /test/]

You might wanna choose a Hotkey, it's much easier.

___

Press insert again and call this command "to" [e.g]

Now in the RIGHT field enter "RNTO" [after TO enter the path of the dir, with some EXTRA SPACES, in this case its /test /  /]

You might also wanna choose a Hotkey for this one, since it's much easier.

Something about the spaces...

Why do I use the spaces? Well you'll notice after you're gonna rename this dir and try to enter it. You can also use more spaces like "RNTO /test   /    /" [as long as you remember to always put ONE space more at the other side of the backslash"RNTO /test<4SPC>/<5SPC>/"

Now press "OK" and rename the dirs by using your Hotkeys. As you can see your operation is succesfully after SmartFTP says:

"    RNFR /test/
350 File exists, ready for destination name
  RNTO /test /  /
250 RNTO command successful."

If it says it's UNSUCCESSFUL please check you syntax.

___

Now refresh the dirs and try to enter the dir..

Muhahaha...NO WAY! :-P

___

You can only enter it when you have the FULL path.. :-)

So if you want to enter your inaccessable dir just enter this:

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/test /tagged4ds/upped by blabla/

REMEMBER THE NUMBER OF SPACES MUST ME EQUAL TO THE NUMBER YOU GAVE TO THE DIR!

In this case I just created one...so like the example one space behind "test".

End of guide.

Though I don't really like locked folders, we have to watch out for those *bad people*
